First Vista-based digital software to be launched at Screen Expo Europe

As digital signage industry is fast gripping the growing market, the industry players are coming up with up-to-date innovations. One such well-researched product – Tru-i Suite, designed by New Delhi-based TruKnox Technologies, is all set to take the industry by storm at the upcoming Screen Expo Europe. In a brief conversation with DigiSign Digest, Rajesh Monga, MD, TruKnox shared the fi rst-hand glimpse of this software.

Rajesh Monga Soon to be launched Tru-i Suite from TruKnox Technologies is the next generation digital signage software, especially developed for Windows Vista, packed with a host of special features, which makes it a strong contender in the digital signage software industry. “We are an avant-garde business entity committed to the design, development and support of quality software and work on the principle of adapting to the ever-changing technology scenario. We have developed Tru-i (the digital signage software), which is innovation in itself by being the world’s first software designed on WPF (Windows Vista) platform, which promises enhanced customer productivity and delight. Needless to say Tru-i is compatible with Windows XP,” explained Rajesh Monga of TruKnox Technologies.

The Tru-i Suite features five products – Tru-i Designer, Tru-i Scheduler, Tru-i Player, Tru-i Booking Agent and Tru-i Billing Agent, of which the Booking and the Billing Agents are available as add-on features.

A screenshot of Tru-i Designer Further on features, as told by Monga, Tru-i is a complete software within itself. The basis of architecture behind Tru-i Designer is to empower the user to create an exceptional experience in a more vibrant and a dynamic environment for the audience. The mundane static and run of the mill solutions will be the story of the past now with a software like Tru-i coming in. Features like transparency of every object with videos over still and still over video, the layer over layer, more than HD playback capability with full scalability, customized clock (digital/analogue) in numbers which can show multiple time zones using 2D/3D transitions, animated gradations in background, digital clock and date over video with full control of colours and transparency are few features that separate Tru-i from the others. Multiple content zones can enhance experience at a much greater length. Rich text supports multiple lines that can be animated through transition effects with full control over transparency and colour. Other features include image slideshow with 2D/3D transitions, customized separator, RSS feed text news, with vertical and horizontal direction options, etc. “We can control transparency and speed of the ticker as well,” added Monga.

Coming to the Tru-i Scheduler, Monga informed that it features grouping support, with ability to define playback groups for ease of scheduling. “With Scheduler, advertisers can target their content to the right audience at the right time,” he added. Other features include remote management, wherein all players can be administered from a single location. It also minimizes the bandwidth required for transfer by using smart scheduling. “Tru-i Scheduler is used to connect and manage different players in the network. It supports arranging the players into different groups, and scheduling the digital signage presentation to them,” he further added.

It not only supports playback of content which is available locally or designed by Tru-i Designer, but can also download selective content from the online data center, or internet as and when needed by the presentations. It has internal self-healing mechanism, which checks itself periodically and repairs itself, if required. It has full logging support, so you can remotely view the past status of the Tru-i Presenter. Besides general logging support, proof of play feature also generates the detailed playback log of videos, as well as periodical screenshots of the content being played on the display unit.”

Another important feature of this software is an optional Tru-i Booking Agent and Tru-i Billing Agent. “The Tru-i Booking Agent is web enabled, checks the schedule and finds out the availability of space, time and position demographically, geographically or on custom basis, one can also get the costing. Billing Agent will generate invoice from the playback information retrieved from the logger, which can be emailed to the advertiser periodically or on demand,” explained Monga.

Tru-i comes from the stable of New Delhi-based TruKnox Technologies, which is an emerging player in the field of dynamic digital signage market. The company is trying to create a niche for itself by offering quality products and services in the market by broadening the use of digital signage software. Since inception, TruKnox has stood by its philosophy of keeping the user ahead of technology. The entire operation at TruKnox is carried out keeping in mind the fact that technology is there to serve the end-user. Backed by such futuristic thought, they sure will go a long way.
