Barco presents new
pixelation luminaire at Plasa ’08


Barco, a leading manufacturer of video and lighting solutions, launched StudioPix at Plasa’08 held from 7-10 September 2008 in London. Introduction of the hybrid wide-angle moving LED wash light with programmable graphic imaging marked a great achievement of the company during the fourday mega event. In addition, StudioPix was the company’s new product in High End Systems’ new Pixelation Luminaries line up.

Based on ‘Showpix’ technology, StudioPix offers unlimited possibilities by not just projecting colours but also displaying images and effects that transform fixture head into a display device. In fact, Plasa ’08 was a great opportunity for visitors to experience Barco’s solutions quite suitable for contemporary trend of video and lighting convergence. In the digital lighting domain, the company has already offered two leading products viz. DML-1200 and DL.3.

Having functions to generate both super bright moving light and high-quality video projector, DML is a digital moving luminare. The dualmode DML-1200 features a large zoom range (11-40 beam angle), instant switching between video and lighting modes, CMY changer and an optional on-board media player. The system features 110/220V power mode, a Collage Generator software feature to create seamless images from multiple DL.3 units, a highly sensitive HAD sensor camera and an infrared illumination system.

Visitors at Plasma ’08 enthralled to witness Showpix in action as well as Showgun, a High End Systems’ latest revolutionary automated luminaire and innovative LED Tracking System. In addition, Barco demonstrated a wide variety of LED, projection and image processing solutions at the event. For creative LED, Barco’s MiSTRIP and MiTRIX modules along with black LED family NX-6 were major eye-catchers at Plasa ’08.
