Future TV celebrates Bindra’s gold
Disseminating regular updates on Indian participants and other vignettes on the games, India’s largest retailscape television network brand Future TV aired a special programme during the recent Beijing 2008 Olympics. As the network was popular for its instant information, the news of Abhinav Bindra’s historic gold medal was aired live across its network – first experience of any medium in OOH media.
‘Ten Olympics Athletes To Watch’ was a programme that highlighted the most talked-about athletes like Michael Phelps who bagged eight gold medals and impressive 41-year-old American swimmer Dara Torres. All programmes were made short with crisp content that would give excellent in-store viewing habit on everybody’s mind.
Taking about the special programmes, Vishakha Singh, director of MarCom and Strategy, Future Media (I) Ltd said, “It’s a moment of pride to celebrate the first ever individual Gold for India. With a focus on being relevant and contextual, Future TV engages people with content flavouring the moment”, adding that it’s not only about updating the viewers about the first-ever individual gold for India but also about celebrating in the ambience.
