Abu Dhabi prepares for huge
LED advertising screen

Abu Dhabi has to have one of the world’s largest LED screens–the Opulence. The screen will be installed by Synaxis Media & Advertising in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Municipality. “It will essentially be an advertising space in the city for all major cooperation, international brands and advertisers”, said Fahed M Al Absi, managing director, Synaxis.

Opulence is a slightly curved screen measuring 28 x 8 m (224 sq m) that would make advertisements visible even from the one-kilometre distance, according to Al Absi. He further mentioned that the screen would be equipped with the latest pixel-technology to handle both static and full-motion advertisements.

Talking about the advantage of the screen over other signage media, Al Absi said that giant display would allow advertisers stretch their small budgets to have wider reach and larger impact. “The LED screen will be made in Taiwan and it will hold more than 24 advertisers, depending on the availability of time slots,” Al Absi added.

After its installation in Abu Dhabi, there are also plans for three more LED screens in other parts of the UAE. “Based on feasibility, we may also plan to expand our operations beyond Abu Dhabi,” according to Al Absi. onscreen CSR property ‘OOH Cares’ wherein the company dedicates its support to social causes and PSMs. OOH Media will dedicate four-week-long screen time for messages designed by UNICEF India where four separate issues will be displayed separately in each week.

Niloufer Dundh, CSO, OOH Media says, “We will utilise the strength of our network and that of Flexicast to garner maximum benefit for the UNICEF. For example, we will have sub-titles on the films customised to the city/region where the films are playing in. Also, we plan to offer potential sponsors an opportunity to promote the cause of UNICEF.” He further mentioned that CSR is a big initiative that many companies are embarking on and the UNICEF is a great cause to be associated with.
