BenQ boosts growth by
launching new multimedia monitor
Spurred by the launch of its 21.5-inch full HD 10:9 multimedia entertainment monitor, BenQ predicts a growth of rate of 35 per cent by the year-end. It will post 18 per cent rise in market share across the Middle East in the third quarter, according to Manish Bakshi, general manager of BenQ for the Middle East and Africa.
Compared with the figure recorded in the same period last year, BenQ marked more than 30 per cent growth in the first half this year in the Middle East and African markets, said Bakshi. Highlighting the company’s current market share rate of 14 per cent in LCD monitors, Bakshi stated, “We are number three or four in this market,” adding that they own a panel manufacturing plant launching the multimedia entertainment monitor for the first time in the region.
Talking about BenQ’s upcoming new products, Bakshi said, “We might bring in mobile internet devices, which are similar to a small PC. The product will probably hit the Middle East by 2009.”
