New age in digital:
Dubai opens 3D cinema

As first-of-its-kind technology in cinema theatres in the Middle East, Dubai introduces Grand Cinemas featuring digitised 3D effects generated by RealD technology. At an exclusive launch session at Dubai Festival Centre, attendees were entertained with thrill and spills of the technology by screening Brendan Fraser-starred Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Home to 12 digital screens with sitting capacity of 2100 moviegoers, Grand Cinemas mark a host of exciting new features of digital media. Apart from the RealD technology, Grand Cinemas offer unparalleled picture quality and sound. Unlike ordinary cinemas, Grand Cinemas will also be accessible to a wide range of corporate events from workshops to seminars and forums.

Talking about the new 3D-technology digital cinemas, Jean Ramia, group operation director, Gulf Films said, “We are extremely happy to announce the launch of our 19th Multiplex located at the square of Dubai Festival Centre. Our ongoing vertical expansion in the cinematic industry across the Middle East is paralleled by our vision of transcending the characteristic qualities of entertainment, and complimenting it by our abilities to facilitate all around services tailored to the likes of all moviegoers in the region.”
