Digital signage as mode of
communication for employees
Digital signage system distributes up-to-date information to the Port of Tacoma’s 250 employees. Conceived as a way to keep staff informed about the progress and development of the Port’s Integrated Management System (IMS), staff and management realised that the digital signage system could serve as the most effective mode of communication. “Any information that needs to be communicated port-wide is handled by our Port News Network disseminating them via digital signage. We don’t need to go through courier or other mail system, saving both paper and time, ” explained Diane Jordan, IMS communications specialist.
StrandVision digital sign is behind the technology of the network where five 50” plasma monitors are installed in the main administration building, engineering project office, security and maintenance break room. “Port staff are just beginning to discover the potential and we are looking forward to learning the new ways they are utilising the system,” said Mike Strand, StrandVision founder and CEO
